"Romilda - Vísi" is a free-to-play game, playable on mobile devices under
Android and iOS and as a desktop application under Windows. It tells the story of
the youth of the main protagonist, Romilda, and her training as a healer with the
wise women of Samsø.
Against the historical background of the Germanic peoples of Central and
Northern Europe in antiquity, the player goes through her training with Romilda
and gets insights and background knowledge about the culture, way of life and
mythology of the Germanic tribes in the first thousand years of our era. At the
same time, together with Romilda, he gets to know the flora of Central and
Northern Europe: edible plants and mushrooms, medicinal herbs and their uses.
Samsø was chosen as the setting because it had a high mythological significance
for the North Germanic peoples. We learn that from the songs of the Edda, where
Odin/ Wotan traveled to Samsø to learn magic. On Samsø there are important
excavation sites from the centuries-long stay of the North Germanic peoples. The
selection of this real place fulfills our claim of authenticity.
The game itself includes various forms of hidden object, logic and skill games
where the player has to find objects or solve puzzles. Each player plays
independently at their own pace while still being able to interact with the
community, such as sending gifts to other players or helping them with individual
mini-games.
Previous puzzle games mostly work with 2D graphics and don't have any
appealing stories. "Romilda-Vísi" will only use real 3D objects and tells a complex
story that will continue with other games.
